It appears that many years ago, for some reason, i wanted mc to run in a kind of 'kiosk' mode and thus, i've set MC_PROFILE_ROOT in my login profile to a location in my tmpfs cache ... and after some time,  i forgot :|

Now that explains why neither keymap nor filegihlight would take effect, as i put these files into the standard .config location and never noticed that they won't be in the kiosk location !

May i add another keyboard question here, now that i discovered ctrl-space, is there a  to have mc do the size calculations for the folders in the active pane, all at once ?

Because that could be very handy, if comparing a folder list with the same in the backup tree, i could see on once glance whether there is a difference w/o needing to do a diff.
