Yes it  works 👍️

video=1024x768 is smaller than huge nomodeset VGA, which appears to be 640x480, but is what i had before, and is _much_ bigger than the original framebuffer default.

So it seem that my original 'gfxmode' settings just did not work anymore with the framebuffer / newer grub version,  and i had to use the 'video=' parameter ! Thx Felix !

ps. I found that the 'fbset' command (and i mean it, not fbterm) w/o any option gives the actual resolution running, plus some more data. Nice.
