Hi there,

I'm glad to be finally able to announce the immediate availability of 
mc-4.8.30, a maintenance and bugfix release of Midnight Commander!

As usual, we have fixed number of bugs in various subsystems, but the most 
notable change in this release is a long-standing update to our tar code, 
which now can finally handle extended headers including long file names 
and sparse files among other goodies. Other than that we have added 
support for PCRE2 and integrated build fixes for Solaris.

release notes. An upgrade is advised to benefit from these improvements!
