Does mc need network connectivity?

Hi all.

I noticed that if routing tables are not set up correctly, there are 
times when mc will not start up, or it takes a minute or more to start.

Having fixed the Virtual Machine routing table, mc started right away.

Does mc need routes to be set up correctly for it to work properly?
