Hello!
I’ve been using MC for 10 years but I never cared how does subshell work.
Lately I’ve switched to Mac and discovered the subshell isn’t working. At launch, MC hangs for half minute and then launches. With -U specified, it starts instantly.
My default shell is zsh, I’ve also tried with bash — with no luck
The problem is I don’t understand what is it checking at that time and what should I check/enable in the system.
Here is the config:
>
> $ echo $0
> /bin/bash
>
> $ mc -V
> GNU Midnight Commander 4.8.14
> Built with GLib 2.46.0
> Using the S-Lang library with terminfo database
> With builtin Editor
> With subshell support as default
> With support for background operations
> With mouse support on xterm
> With internationalization support
> With multiple codepages support
> Virtual File Systems: cpiofs, tarfs, sfs, extfs, ftpfs, sftpfs, fish
> Data types: char: 8; int: 32; long: 64; void *: 64; size_t: 64; off_t: 64;
