bash or zsh as internal interpreter?

Dear all,

though I'm using zsh per default, it seems that mc/mcedit is using
simple sh while interpreting scipts e.g. for the user menu
(~/.config/mc/mcedit/menu)
This gives me a bit trouble because I don't know how to do certain
things like string escaping..

I'm sure that I can find out how to do it in sh, but is there maybe a
way to set the interpreter to zsh?
