Control-backslash doesn't work on console in MC

I'm running mc in plain console. On my operating system I have 6 tty's:
tty1, tty2, ..., tty6.

When I shall install X Window System, the tty7 will be that where I can
reach X Window System by pressing LeftAlt+F7.

But now I have only 6 textual - plain console yet.
