F2, F3, F10, C-x t not working

Folks,


something strange is going on.  F2, F3, and F10 show no reaction.
However, `learn keys' indicates that all function keys are passed
through.  For root I'm running version 4.6.2-pre1 (installed as an
openSuSE 11.2 RPM package), and everything works as expected.

A similar problem is C-x t which no longer copies the tagged files to
the command line.

Help, please!
