4.7.0.1 panels.ini problem

Thanks, I had already seen that. It seems to me that the behaviour has 
changed with 4.7.0.1 - before that, MC would act as though 'auto save 
setup' was still in force, since the path information was saved in 
panels.ini. Now, unless there is already a panels.ini, it simply starts 
with both panes set to the startup directory.

:) Personally, I'm much rather have the behaviour from the 4.6.x series, 
where I could select the right hand pane start directory and save the 
settings, as well as turning off autosave setup.
