Hi Andrew,

I'm using the latest one (mc-4.7.0.2). At first I tried it without 
checking the docs (:port makes sense) but it seems that the box I was 
trying to connect is down so it didn't work out.

Then, I checked the help menu but I couldn't find the info there so I 
thought I might ask.

The manual page says something about it, but under the "Network File 
System" section,

Under the "FIle transfer over SHell filesystem" it doesn't mention about 
the port option.

The _options_ are 'C' - use compression and 'rsh' use rsh instead of 
ssh.  If  the  remote-dir  element is present, your current directory on 
the remote machine will be set to this one.
