Inefficient archive unpacking

Hi!
I send some demonstrative scripts to motivate you ;-)
They are slow because they use awk, but an expert may can these
speed-up (or a total rewrite to c may be optimal). As you can see, that
would be nice, if our script would get the uncompressed size (so we
could compute easily if we have enough space left)
