Command line on top of the screen?

Hi, I wonder if it is possible to have mc display the command line on the second
line of the screen (just under the menu line) rather than on the second-last
line.

I guess it should require a patch, but I don't know the mc sources at all: do
you think that would be feasible, or just too complicated?
