display accent or euros with mcedit

 hello ,
 
 i'm using a french keyboard with letter like é à € è â û ù and few
 others
 mc -V gives me :

 GNU Midnight Commander 4.5.55
 Edition : mode texte
Système de Fichier Virtuel : tarfs, extfs , ftpfs, mcfs, undelfs
Avec éditeur intégré
Using system-installed S-Lang library with termcap database
With subshell support as default
Avec prise en charge des opérations en tâche de fond
With mouse support on xterm and Linux console
Utiliser les paramètres de lieu "fr_FR at euro" (de la variable
d'environnement LANG)

i have 
ncurses-5.2-28


 I love mc and before using linux I used to love norton commander
  but i can't completely use mcedit because when i edit files with accent
 letter in it  mcedit display them well but a I cannot type this kind of 
 letter in the éditor
 
 i do not understand how i can correct this ?
 
 can anyone help?
