I think their authors are very busy developing MPlayer.
mc-4.1.35-A12pre1.tar.gz is from July 2000.

lists all changes / implemented features.

- quick CD supports wildcards (eg. typing 'cd foo*bar?z' works...)      
(modified examine_cd() in command.c, added my wildcard_cmp_names())

is interesting.
