hello -

if i copy a path containing an exclamation mark (!) with ^X^P or ^XP, 
it is not escaped; if the copy is done in order to pass the 
path/filename to bash, it complains...
the same is true for names containing blanks.

interestingly enough special characters get properly escaped if copied 
to the command line by esc-enter.

not too important, though.
