FiSH Connection fails : mc freezing (2)

Hi,

in order to track down my problem (see my first mail from today) I compiled 
mc 4.5.55 from the original source, using glib 1.2.7. The actual mc 
configuration is :

[hps at yankee /usr/local/mc/bin]$ ./mc -V
GNU Midnight Commander 4.5.55
Edition: text mode
Virtual File System: tarfs, extfs, ftpfs, mcfs
With builtin Editor
Using S-Lang library with terminfo database
With subshell support as default
With support for background operations
With mouse support on xterm
Using locale "C" (from environment variable LANG)


Same effect : mc freezes when requesting the SSH password using the fish 
filesystem.

Now I'm _really_ clueless (did RTFM twice...). Might it be a bug, or do I 
have some misconfiguration?
