MIME type handling in Gmc

hello,

i would like to know how to change the MIME type handling in Gmc.
by exemple, when i click on a mpg file, it is opened with xanim, which
is unable to display mpg files, or when i click on a gif anim file, it
is opened with electric eyes which is unable to handle animated gif...
this is the default app for that mime type.
but i would change to another app.

i tried to do that with file-types-capplet.
but it seems that gmc continue to use defaults and don't care which app
i mentionned in control center.
