MC's hint line unexpectedly relocates to the top line

Hi,

This is the second time I see this effect: when doing certain actions
(probably, starting file copy and canceling it), the hint line
migrates from its usual place in the bottom to the top screen line. Is
it a bug or an occasionally pressed hotkey?
