From yury at shurup.com Tue Nov 2 11:54:28 2010 From: yury at shurup.com (Yury V. Zaytsev) Date: Tue, 02 Nov 2010 12:54:28 +0100 Subject: Notification to the translators Message-ID: <1288698868.6685.2.camel@mypride> Hi! Hmmm... I guess it's actually the first time we are going to hold our promise to warn the translators *prior* to the release party. Having that said, we currently have the following tentative timelines in mind: 1) 4.7.0.10 release is hopefully going to be cut this weekend. This will be the last release from the 4.7.0.x stable series. Please check your translations this week prior to the release! Overall, we think that the translations for the stable branch are in a pretty good shape and understandably there haven't been much changes in the strings so it's quite easy to keep up. However, several patches caused many fuzzies, so please go through the translation again. Transifex allows to do this quickly and in an uncomplicated manner. 2) 4.7.5 release will hopefully happen within the next few weeks. This release will be a new base for stable branch (e.g. 4.7.5.x), therefore we would like to complete several important endeavors, such as re-indenting the code before release, code split-ups etc. For this reason, we can't name a definite release date, but it's coming on... Hopefully, by the time of the release we will be able to merge all outstanding bug fixes in the master branch. The strings, therefore, are not expected to change much, so you can already start working on a translation for the upcoming 4.7.5. Thanks! -- Sincerely yours, Yury V. It is my default editor, so for instance even "git commit" invokes it. After mcedit exits, it seems to leave some invisible character or escape sequence in my terminal, so the first character of my next command does not show up. Example: $ git commit # this invokes mcedit $ it push origin master # I actually typed "git push..." I have not seen any related ticket relevant for master. I'm using mc compiled from source: 2cfa57d Merge branch '2229_viewer_fast_move_up_down_wrapped' New Ticket? And I just remember, I also had a segfault while "Find File", Search for content, at a gzipped manual page among the files. I have installed mcedit as editor for git too. But don't see any artifacts... Standalone mcedit still eats the 1st typed character after exiting. On the other hand, I can't reproduce the segfault in gzipped file while M-? Search for content. I've configured mc to exit upon a _single_ Escape. But I got used to the double Escapes in the past too much, so I still do it occasionally. The 1st Escape exits mcedit, but the 2nd goes to the terminal. Sorry again G
