Follow-up Comment #2, bug #20192 (project mc):

This is a known issue with MC 4.6.1 . It is fixed in the CVS repository - you
may want to fetch a recent snapshot:

http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/utils/file/managers/mc/snapshots/

Please, let us know whether the snapshot fixes the problem that you are
experiencing.
