Follow-up Comment #4, bug #13726 (project mc):

huh, i thought i already replied to this ...
no, i don't want it closed. i never had the problem of input for the shell
going to the panels. i don't know whether this was just a usage pattern thing
or whether the problem was specific to cygwin.
in any case it *should* be possible to track the destination properly, so the
steamroller tactics of just purging the input stream should be not necessary.
