C-\ hotlist key in 4.6.1 won't work under tty<i>

Our System:
Debian Sarge

mc -V:  (from the source with configure --without-x, or only configure)
GNU Midnight Commander 4.6.1-pre4
Virtuelles Dateisystem: tarfs, extfs, cpiofs, ftpfs, fish
Mit eingebautem Editor
Verwende integrierte S-Lang-Bibliothek mit terminfo-Datenbank
Mit standardmäßiger Subshell-Unterstützung:
Mit Unterstützung für Hintergrundtätigkeiten
Mit Maus-UnterstÜtzung für xterm
Mit Internationalisierungs-Unterstützung

env:
SHELL=/bin/bash
TERM=linux
LANG=de_DE at euro

Problem:
The Directory hotlist can't be displayed using the hotkey C-\ (Strg-Altgr-\) 
when working on a console (tty<x>).
C-\ does work correctly in an xterm or konsole under X.

We have the same behavior with the Debian Package 4.6.1-pre3.

With the old "Woody" Version 4.5.55 we have no problems with the hotlist 
shortcut.

Any hints?
