getgrouplist segfault?

So what would be the default value for the variable?

- TRUE on non-glibc systems,
- TRUE on glibc systems with glibc>=2.3.3,
- FALSE otherwise?

I think it _is_ trivial. If we abstract from the possibility of some 
distributions that might patch this thing without increasing the version 
number.

But another question arises: Do we want to keep this variable and the 
patch forever? Or will we remove it in one or two years?
