code improvements for the viewer

I'd like mcview to be documented as good as possible.

Does anyone of you want to have a look at the mcview code and tell me 
where I should add some comments (or complete descriptions)? Since I 
have written most of the code, I know it quite well, but I definitely 
don't want to exclude you from understanding it.

Please try to read the code and tell me all things you don't understand 
or find hard to get. I will document them. Even if you think the issues 
are minor ones, please report them.
