Even worse the cvs comment for rev. 1.60 of util.h does
not indicate at all the the function signature was changed.

Roland, please be extra careful when commiting changes. I guess you didn't
want to commit the change to the function prototype and it was done
unintentionally. To catch such errors you may want to "cvs diff" before
commiting.
