The patches are here: http://www.suse.de/~nadvornik/mc.html Input widget and viewer uses directly UTF-8, editor uses wchar_t internaly and performs conversion on reading and writing files. Bugs and missing features: - portability (It currently does not compile without patched slang) - better integration with HAVE_CHARSET option - support for characters with wcwidth() > 1 Can these patches be included in future mc releases after these issues are fixed? -- Vladimir Nadvornik developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SuSE CR, s.r.o. e-mail: nadvornik at suse.cz Drahobejlova 27 tel:+420 2 9654 2373 190 00 Praha 9 fax:+420 2 9654 2374 Ceska republika http://www.suse.cz From curt at gwis.com Tue May 4 20:17:34 2004 From: curt at gwis.com (Cowboy) Date: Tue, 4 May 2004 16:17:34 -0400 Subject: Please send any bug reports Message-ID: <200405041617.34939.curt@gwis.com> I definately consider the inability, or difficulty in finding out how, to make mc run in a nice black on white mode as it used to, to be a rather SEVERE bug ! Which version of mc are you running? To me, mc -b (4.6.1-pre1) does run in b/w mode w/o obvious issue. What kind of problem do you encounter?
