Below is a bug-report from Debian. Is there somebody speaking Italian
on this list to fix this?

Regards, Adam

Subject: Bug#231071: Italian translation changes hotkeys in a dangerous way

Package: mc
Version: 1:4.6.0-4.6.1-pre1-1
Severity: grave
Tags: l10n

Hello,

During the copy operation, in case the target file already exists, there
is the red screen asking what to do.

Here's the italian translation:

------------------------------------------------------------
Il file "/home/enrico/t/.pro~004-01-08.pre.log" esiste gi?!

Data sorgente: gen 8 23:30, dimensione 978
Data destinazione: gen 8 23:30, dimensione 978

Sovrascrivo questo file? [ Si ] [ No ] [ Attacca ]
Sovrascrivo tutto? [ Tutti ] [ Aggiorna ] [ nessuno ]
[ solo se la dimensione ? diversa ]
[ Esci ]
------------------------------------------------------------

I had a long list partial mailboxes, to concatenated with the existing
ones. So I started a copy, the conflicts started showing up, and I of
course tried pressing 'A' for 'Attacca', which means 'append': the
letter is capitalized to mean a hotkey.

With my big surprise, mc went on and fucked up all my precious mailboxes
with a lot of historical mail, overwriting them with the very small
partial ones containing today's updates.

I then realized that one line below there is a 'Aggiorna' (update)
function, which is also bound to 'A'.

It will take me quite a while to recover, rebuild, re-sort out stuff
from backups.

Of course I don't want to know who did that translation, or he will have
a very bad time if I'll meet him.

However, this can cause data loss (the key for a non-destructive
function binds to a destructive one), has caused data loss, needs to be
reported and should really be fixed asap.

Ciao,

Enrico
