I would like to inform that Debian packages of mc 4.6.0 are 
available, and can be apt-ed from:

deb http://people.debian.org/~alpha/mc/ ./

Since now I maintain the Debian mc package, as the previous maintainer
lost interest in it.  The package will be included in the official
Debian distribution soon.
