Er, this is not the mc CVS repository.  What are the chances of an mc
release happening any time soon to fix these things?  Do you know?

In any event, the usual policy around here is not to accept patches from
CVS.  I was going to make an exception for the enable-charset fix (and
still might), but I'm quickly remembering why I have that policy.
