OK.  Not only that, but I also missed that you reverted another useful
change (set current date, not year 1970, on patches if the date cannot be
parsed):

-    return timef(time);
+    return timef(0);

My fault for not reading your patch :-(

I suggest that you use "cvs diff" to generate diffs.  It would be
impossible to revert changes done by others without knowing that.  It's
better to send a patch against yesterday's revision than a patch that
unwittingly reverts today's changes.
