Ncurces based mc does not handle keys under high load

AMD K6 500 MHz + Linux 2.4.16 + Kylix (100% CPU utilization) + XFree 
4.2.0 + Wmaker + mc compiled with ncurses. And it is 100 % reproduceable 
in the large directory or in the editor.

Mouse works well for me on Red Hat 7.3 in wmaker.
