***CRITICAL*** error in tree view

With a tree panel or directory tree:

Just pressing F2 and then F3 on a directory, I get

** CRITICAL **: file treestore.c: line 545 (tree_store_remove_entry): assertion 'ts.check_name != NULL' failed.

Latest snapshot, Kernel 2.4.19.

I thought I had seen this work these days... Maybe it was an illusion, as I tried in a second fresh system, and got the same error.

With Ctrl-L things seem to go fine afterwards.
