You should probably look in mc-devel archives, it was 1-2 months ago
IIRC. Mailing list traffic is not very high.

BTW, could you please use external slang? There are messages about
another problem:

bug)

GNU Midnight Commander 4.5.99a

This bug occurs only with included slang, with slang-1.4.4 it is OK:

I like using terminal clipboard between mc editor or viewer and other
apps.

But with included slang copying from mc doesn't save EOLs, instead it
inserts lots of spaces.

Example: Using gnome-terminal and Shift-left-mouse, I am able to copy
any text from MC view and paste it to any other application. Included
slang doesn't save EOLs in text, so clipboard is unusable for multi-line
texts.

Recompiling mc with slang-1.4.4 completelly resolves the problem.

Hi, Stanislav!

Thank you for this observation! I don't think that the included slang
library should be updated. It is known to be portable. Besides, it's
quite small and in the same time handy if you don't have slang installed.

Unless you have a specific fix, I'm not going to fix it. But it may be
worth mentioning in the documentation.

Also the rpm specfile should be changed to use the external slang. The
bugs with the external slang have been fixed long ago.

Because of this bug mc rpm is almost unusable for me.
