--with-samba problems

This is what I'm getting every time starting mc, when mc is configured
--with-samba:

params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file "/etc/smb.conf":
        No such file or directory
Cannot load /etc/smb.conf - run testparm to debug it
load_client_codepage: filename /usr/local/samba/lib/codepages/codepage.850 does not exist.


About smb.conf: In my RH71 system I have /etc/samba/smb.conf, so maybe
it is not a good idea to hardcode /etc/smb.conf?

The same thing about codepage.850, in my system it resides at
/usr/share/samba/codepages/codepage.850
