How Duplicate SourceForge Black on White Midnight Commander?

Hi,

maybe it is obvious, but:

mc starts in colormode, if it find the terminal to be color
capable. You can force color mode, but you can't force b/w mode.

I don't know which version you use, but until recently, mc looked into
~/.mc/ini for the color terminal value and compared it to $TERM.

You could try TERM=nocolorplease mc
