--with-ncurses problems

Which of those problems are ncurses specific and which are not?

Run "dd" ithout arguments and press Insert in it.  What do you see?  The
same applies to all other problematic keys.  I don't think it's an ncurses
vs. slang problem - it looks like a limitation of your terminal.
